Black Liberation Theology - Service led by Rev. Dan Brosier
In light of the controversy surrounding the Rev. Jeremiah White
where his views have been condemned from many corners and
any affiliation with them appears to be political suicide, we
explore the roots of Black Liberation Theology to understand
where all the heat is coming from.  24 Min.

When you celebrated the 4th of
July, were you waving the flag,
singing the national anthem, in
a "our country love it or leave
it" frenzy, were you struggling
with a vague sense of nausea,
or were you somewhere in
between? How do Unitarian
Universalist feel about patriotism?
Let's reflect on the varying
degrees of patriotism keeping
in mind ... "A liberal is a man
too broad minded to take his own
side in a quarrel." Robert Frost

As a small denomination, it is
essential that we Unitarian
Universalist Churches have a
strong self-concept. Any healthy
sense of self includes awareness
of both strengths and weaknesses.

"We hold the light of our chalice
high, but that light has its shadows.
Are we courageous enough to
see them?"

Half the world nearly three billion people lives on less than two dollars a day.  Thirty thousand children die each day due to poverty. Seven hundred ninety million people are chronically undernourished. And those are just some of the startling statistics regarding world poverty.  What can one person do? It turns out the answer may be, a whole lot.  In fact, at the conclusion of this service the congregation pledged $5,000 to fun a micro-bank! Warning!!! Listening to some of these statistics on hunger and poverty is quite chilling. Service led by Dan Hislip.
