Half the world � nearly three billion people �lives on less than two dollars a day.  Thirty thousand children die each day due to poverty. Seven hundred ninety million people are chronically undernourished. And those are just some of the startling statistics regarding world poverty.  What can one person do? It turns out the answer may be, a whole lot.  In fact, at the conclusion of this service the congregation pledged $5,000 to fun a micro-bank! Warning!!! Our greatest resource is one another. Whatever our path and however we choose to find our way, the UUCE community supports our search through the multitude of experiences members and friends share with one another. Racism is nurtured by distance and the prejudice this allows.  Encountering people as human beings is a beginning in closing the gap. Listening to people dismantles the assumptions. Take a listen to this.  Service led by the Rev. Dan Brosier.

Those of us who are concerned about racial justice wonder what we can do.  One potent step is to learn a fuller history of this Nation and the contributions of African Americans.  Rev. Dan Brosier moderates a "game show" presentation.

The holiday season—a time of the year when there are overlapping holidays. The most ancient of these, and perhaps the underlying theme of them all, is the Winter Solstice. In this service led by Rev. Dan Brosier we capture the spirit of this holiday.

The heart of most churches, mosques, synagogues and temples is the community.  In this service we celebrate the power of community in our lives through words and a home made bread communion ritual.  Also a tribute to long time members Linda and Jim Porter who are returning to Lexington, KY. In this service, guest speaker Bill Wilson of the intentional community of Stelle in Central, IL speaks about "what is a the core of building authentic relationships within families, groups, communities, and ultimately with oneself and all of life." The practice or use of PermaCulture is an outward expression of those authentic relationships. This special presentation is co-sponsored by the Green Sanctuary and Worship Committees and led by Elise C. Wall.

Recorded the Sunday before Halloween 2006, Our Monsters, Ourselves explore some of the creatures that lurk in our dark. The stories of monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula are human creations that have something to say about our about our humanity.  Service led by the Rev. Dan Brosier. The issue is global warming. It is widely recognized that past and present human activities that produce green house gases are at least a part of the problem.
